Hilton: Visa Cards

Yesterday, I provided analysis of the two Hilton American Express credit cards. Today, the Hilton Visa credit card. Hilton offers 4 Visa credit cards that may be of interest to Hilton travelers. These cards are very similar to the American Express cards in regards to initial bonuses and ongoing accumulation of points for Hilton hotel stays and everyday purchases. Here is a breakdown of the Hilton Visa card available in the United States:

Citi Hilton HHonors® Visa® Signature Card
  • 15,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points (after $150 in purchases within 2 months of opening your account).
  • 6 HHonors bonus points for every U.S. dollar at Hilton Family hotels
  • 3 HHonors bonus points for every U.S. dollar spent on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations.
  • 2 HHonors bonus points for every U.S. dollar spent on all other purchases.
  • Silver VIP membership for the duration of Cardmembership.

The other three Visa cards are for German, Japanese, and British residents, respectively. Information on these cards can be found on Hilton's credit card offers site.

My Prescription

When comparing the Hilton American Express credit cards offers with the Visa offer it is pretty obvious that the American Express cards are better for the point-conscious traveler. If paying the credit card off every month poses a problem then consider getting the Visa card as you will still earn a substantial amount of points.
